2008 Mazda 6 P2227 Diagnostic Code: Is It a Sensor or ECU Issue?

Model: 2008 Mazda 6 Fault Code: P2227 Posted: 2018-06-05 02:06

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2008 Mazda 6 2.0L CI-CD (103kW) model and took it to the official Mazda service center for diagnostics. They identified a past occurrence of fault code P2227, which they noted was reported one year ago. Importantly, the current driving conditions show no active symptoms or performance issues. The technician suggested that this could be related to an electronic control unit (ECU) problem, but I'm unsure if this is accurate. My question: Does a 2008 Mazda 6 have an integrated barometric pressure sensor built into its engine management system? I believe the answer might be no, so I'm seeking clarification on whether P2227 indicates a faulty sensor or a software/ECU issue. Can anyone with experience on this model confirm if P2227 is typically caused by a missing or malfunctioning baro sensor, or if it's more likely an ECU-related fault? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
