2008 Mazda 3 1.6di Turbo Multi-Code Issue: P0167, P0033, P0100, P0169 - Engine Stalls on Acceleration
Hello, I own a 2008 Mazda 3 with a 1.6L 110ch turbo diesel engine (1.6di turbo). My car has been running normally until the past two weeks. Currently, when I accelerate, the engine stalls and shuts off unexpectedly. The vehicle starts fine each time, but the issue recurs during acceleration. After diagnostic testing, the OBD2 system shows multiple fault codes: P0167, P0033, P0100, and P0169. I have already replaced the flowmeter with no improvement — the P0100 code returns consistently. The particle filter was inspected 1,000 km ago and shows no signs of smoke or excessive fuel consumption. Any insights into these codes or potential fixes? Thank you in advance for your help.
The P0033 code is likely related to turbocharger system issues. Possible causes include: - Faulty turbocharger bypass valve actuator - Defective turbocharger bypass valve - Disconnected, cracked, or collapsed vacuum line (especially if vacuum-actuated) - Malfunctioning boost pressure sensor - Shorted or open wiring in the boost sensor circuit - Loose, corroded, or disconnected electrical connectors in the reference circuit - Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or boost control unit For more details: https://www.autozone.com/p0033
