P0024 Fault Code on 2008 Infiniti G35 Sedan - Diagnosis and Solutions
Hello everyone, I'm currently dealing with a persistent issue on my 2008 Infiniti G35 sedan — the OBD2 fault code P0024 keeps appearing, despite multiple attempts to resolve it. My trusted mechanic has already replaced both intake camshaft position solenoids and performed an oil change. The code was cleared after these services, but it returns every time I drive, especially under load. Additionally, when accelerating hard on the highway, I notice a strong gasoline odor coming from outside the vehicle — this only occurs during acceleration. I'm unsure if this smell is related to the P0024 code or another issue. The car does not stall, runs smoothly under normal conditions, and shows no roughness or performance problems at idle or low speeds. This is currently preventing me from registering my vehicle, so I need a reliable solution as soon as possible. The only diagnostic trouble code present is P0024. Can anyone provide insight into what might be causing this? Are there known issues with the camshaft position sensors, timing chain, or solenoid components in this model? Any advice or technical references would be greatly appreciated.
Only P0024 detected? Have you had any previous work on camshaft timing — such as a timing chain replacement? I recommend checking TSB ITB06-023a for known fixes. If needed, feel free to PM me with your email address and I’ll share the technical manual procedure directly with you.
