Code p0353 2007 taurus

Model: 2007 Taurus Fault Code: P0353 Posted: 2016-05-29 11:16

I'm working on a 2007 taurus, I replaced the coil and it ran a little rough so I turned it off and restarted it and heard a pop and saw smoke. I saw a Crack with black ooze coming from the middle of the coil. Replaced it again now it's not firing from the middle two cylinders of the coil. The ends of the coil has spark. There is no change in the idling when I pull the wires from the plugs of the coil. What's going on?

this is a coil pack, all 6 coils in 1 unit.... am I right? You are using NEW coils so far? Which cylinders are not firing? they are in groups 1&5. 2&6, 3&4...the middle 2 are cylinders 2&6. Start with simple test of wiring... The connector has 4 wires - With KOEO unplug and test harness 1wire is 12v supply*, the other 3 are signal wires, they should have no voltage AND they should NOT be grounded. *often pink or red BUT should matter only 1qire should have 12v

check at coil for spark, this eliminates wires and plug possibilities. Start with simple test of wiring... The connector has 4 wires - With KOEO unplug and test harness 1wire is 12v supply*, the other 3 are signal wires, they should have no voltage AND they should NOT be grounded. *often pink or red BUT should not matter only 1 wire should have 12v
