2007 Mazda 6 P0126

Model: 2007 Mazda 6 Fault Code: P0126 Posted: 2016-01-07 22:50

2007 Mazda 6, 4i, 124000 miles. Had this code several times. Every time, it occurred in a highway drive that lasted longer than 30 minutes. Cleared it with OBD scanners, but the code kept occurring again and again. I am about to replace the thermostat this weekend. If the error code still come back, I will update this post to let you know. Did anyone have the same code?

I have a 2007 Mazda 5 Sport that does the same thing. I have a little OBDII scanner in the car that I use to clear it with. Haven't had the time or patience to fix it yet.

Did you fix your ETC problem PO126. I am having it on my 2997 Mazda CX7. Articles suggest to replace the Engine Coolant Sensor ECT.

be sure to use OEM thermostat. With scanner record ECT, the sensor change might help. There is a mazda TSB for a similar concern 01-023/08 - but the issue has not appeared till now was there some recent work?

I have an 07 Speed6 that codes P0126 also on long drives. My thoughts (and I am no expert) is there may be two cooling systems on this car? Regular radiator cooling and a turbo cooler? It comes on every once in a while, but especially on longer drives from London, ON to Sudbury or Barrie, ON. Anyone find a fix for this yet?
