2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 3.8L P0052 O2 Sensor Code After Installing OBX Headers and Cat-Back Exhaust

Model: 2007 Jeep Wrangler Fault Code: P0052 Posted: 2018-07-28 21:21

I recently installed OBX headers and removed the catalytic converter on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited with a 3.8L engine, along with adding an MSR-B cat-back exhaust system for off-road performance. Since the modification, I've started receiving a P0052 diagnostic trouble code, which indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor heater circuit in Bank 1, Sensor 1. I attempted to clear the code using my Super Chip TrailDash 2 programmer and replaced the O2 sensor with a new one, but the P0052 code persists. The vehicle does not start or run properly when the code is present. I'm wondering if this issue is related to the exhaust modifications or if there's another underlying cause. I'd like to keep using my Super Chip TrailDash 2 programmer and need advice on how to resolve this issue safely and effectively.

There's a lot going on here — is this an off-road vehicle? Do you have access to an OBD2 scanner to check for trouble codes and monitor live sensor data? Verify that the oxygen sensor has proper 12V power supply at the sensor itself and ensure the ground connection is secure. Avoid using aftermarket sensors — they are often unreliable and can cause persistent issues like this one.
