2007 Jeep Liberty Intermittent P0158 O2 Sensor Fault Diagnosis
I'm experiencing an intermittent P0158 fault code on my 2007 Jeep Liberty. I've already checked all electrical connections, including those at the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and there are no visible wire rubs or damage. At idle and operating temperature, the oxygen sensor voltage reads between 2.2 and 2.9 volts. This is higher than expected for a functioning oxygen sensor. Is there a way to test the O2 sensor itself directly? I'm looking for guidance on how to verify if the sensor is faulty or if there's an internal short in the heater circuit or signal wiring.
The P0158 code indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor in Bank 2, Sensor 2 (after catalytic converter). This is typically caused by a faulty sensor or an electrical issue. Since it's intermittent, it may be related to internal sensor failure or wiring faults.
