P0113 Fault Code on 2007 Ford Escape: Intake Air Temperature Sensor Issue

Model: 2007 Ford Escape Fault Code: P0113 Posted: 2016-07-24 14:01

I'm experiencing a P0113 diagnostic trouble code on my 2007 Ford Escape. My local dealership stated they do not understand what an intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is. I have already replaced the mass airflow (MAF) sensor, but the P0113 code persists. Given that this code indicates a circuit fault with abnormally high voltage readings, it's likely related to the intake air temperature sensor or its wiring harness connecting to the powertrain control module (PCM). A proper scan tool should be used to check the actual IAT signal voltage to confirm whether the issue lies in the sensor itself or in the wiring between the IAT sensor and the PCM.

P0113 code — you've replaced the MAF sensor, but this code specifically points to an intake air temperature (IAT) sensor circuit issue with elevated voltage readings. Use a scan tool to verify the actual IAT signal voltage returned by the sensor. A high voltage reading suggests either a faulty IAT sensor or a wiring problem between the IAT sensor and the PCM.
