2007 Dodge Hemi 5.7L 1500 4x4 P0522 Check Engine Light Issue - Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement Help

Model: 2007 dodge hemi 5.7 1500 truck Fault Code: P0522 Posted: 2015-11-04 20:01

I own a 2007 Dodge Hemi 5.7L 1500 4x4 with the check engine light illuminated and a persistent trouble code P0522. I've already replaced the oil pressure sensor twice, and both times the gauge reads normal oil pressure as well as passing manual pressure tests. All wiring has been inspected and appears intact. After clearing the code, the check engine light returns after approximately 20 key cycles. I'm using the recommended OEM-grade oil and filter. Despite these efforts, the P0522 code persists. Could this be related to a faulty sensor connection or wiring issue? Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any other diagnostic trouble codes present? I'd recommend double-checking the connector at the oil pressure sensor—heat and vibration can cause poor connections. Could you share the freeze frame data from the scan tool? Did you use a genuine Dodge OEM sensor or an aftermarket one?

No other codes are present. I used an oil pressure sensor from AutoZone (Oreillys was likely a typo).

Please check the freeze frame data and ensure there's no corrosion, bent contacts, or loose connections at the sensor terminal. Wires near connectors are prone to failure—verify continuity between the oil pressure sensor and PCM using an ohmmeter. Look for open circuits or shorts.
