2007 Dodge Charger 2.7L V6 Multiple Misfires: What to Do After Replacing Spark Plugs, Coil Packs, and Fuel Pump

Model: 2007 Dodge Charger 2.7L V6 Fault Code: P0300 Posted: 2016-01-07 09:40

I own a 2007 Dodge Charger with a 2.7L V6 engine that is experiencing multiple misfires. I've already replaced the spark plugs, coil packs, fuel pump, and crankshaft position sensor, but the issue persists. Multiple mechanics have told me they cannot identify or fix the problem. What should I try next? I'm looking for specific diagnostic steps to help pinpoint the root cause of these recurring misfires.

Scan and post all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Do not rely on simply turning the key off and on as a fix. Check which brand of spark plugs you used—some aftermarket brands can cause misfires. Avoid using an oiled air filter, such as K&N models, as they may interfere with engine performance. If possible, use an OBD2 scanner to monitor key engine parameters like ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature), MAF (Mass Air Flow), MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure), and oxygen sensors—where applicable. Without a scanner, check fuel pressure and observe the fuel pressure drop when the engine is off (KOEO). Then inspect the spark plugs: are they firing? Are they wet, dry, black, or tan in color? Also perform a vacuum leak check and consider conducting a compression test to rule out mechanical issues.
