2007 Chevy Equinox P0711 and P0700 Error Codes: Transmission Shifting Issues and Diagnosis
I'm experiencing intermittent rough shifting in my 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, especially during acceleration. The vehicle rocks back and forth when I accelerate, but this doesn't happen every time—only occasionally. I've been getting OBD-II error codes P0711 (Transmission Pressure Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance) and P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction). I'm concerned whether this indicates a serious transmission issue. Can anyone confirm what these codes mean and how they might relate to the driving behavior? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
The P0711 and P0700 codes are commonly linked to transmission fluid temperature sensor issues. Check both the wiring harness and the actual sensor for faults. A faulty sensor can cause erratic shifting behavior, even if it's not a complete transmission failure.
