I own a 2007 Cadillac Escalade and my check engine light is on, displaying fault code P0011. I've already replaced the VCT solenoid, intake timing control valve, sensor harness wiring, camshaft position (CMP) system components, and changed the oil. Despite these efforts, the check engine light remains illuminated. What other potential causes could be responsible for this persistent P0011 code? Additionally, I've confirmed that my engine oil level is correct and have used high-quality oil as recommended.

Ensure the VCT solenoid circuit is intact — verify there is 12V at the solenoid. Check for grounding, open circuits, or shorted wiring in the control circuit. Engine oil level and pressure are critical to proper operation of the camshaft position actuator system. I've replaced every component related to P0011 — including the timing chain, intake camshaft position (CMP) actuator, VVT solenoid, gas cap, and ECU/ECM. I also resolved P0443 EVAP code by replacing the EVAP solenoids and system components. Despite all these changes, the P0011 code persists. The only remaining solution appears to be a complete engine replacement.

Hi everyone — before making any replacements, always verify oil pressure! In many 2007 Cadillac Escalades, worn camshaft bearings cause reduced oil pressure, which can trigger P0011. Normal oil pressure should be at least 180–200 kPa. We found that replacing the camshaft and bearings resolved the issue — the eccentric bearings were severely worn. This insight comes from Cadillac service technicians in Turkey (mr.topalli).

P0011 and C0561 codes may be caused by a faulty oil pressure sensor. If your engine has been driven with heavily contaminated oil for an extended period, the sensor can malfunction and provide incorrect readings. When replacing the sensor, if oil pressure drops significantly, it indicates that camshaft or main/rod bearings are worn — in such cases, consider replacing the camshaft as needed. Use Mobil 1 5W-30 engine oil with an AC Delco PF-48 filter. A long-life filter like AC Delco PF-61 may also help. Maintain oil pressure above 180–160 kPa.

The P0011 code has been present for over a year. I've replaced the VVT sensor, camshaft position sensor, harness wiring, timing chain kit, and oil pressure sensor. My oil is clean and at proper levels. I'm now considering replacing the oil pump — but I can't determine why the check engine light remains on despite all these repairs.

I've replaced everything — including the oil pump, timing guides, and double-checked my timing multiple times. The vehicle starts, idles smoothly, and drives normally. However, I still see P0011. Additionally, I notice the stabilizer system light flickering intermittently. This may suggest a deeper mechanical or sensor issue. Honestly, it seems like nothing short of a complete engine overhaul would resolve this.
