I own a 2006 Saturn Ion and recently received two OBD2 diagnostic codes: P0455 (Large Evaporative Emission System Leak) and P0456 (Small Evaporative Emission System Leak). The check engine light is currently on, and occasionally the gas cap warning light flashes or rings. I'm wondering if a faulty gas cap could be causing these issues. Given that both codes relate to the evaporative emission system, I believe the gas cap might be the root cause—especially since it's a common failure point in this model.
