2006 Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI 4x4 Fault Codes P0700 and P0562 - Battery & Transmission Issues

Model: 2006 ram 1500 5.7l HEMI 4x4 Fault Code: P0562 Posted: 2016-11-29 14:46

My 2006 Ram 1500 with a 5.7L HEMI engine and 4x4 drivetrain has suddenly developed issues after using low-quality fuel (approximately 1.5 to 2 gallons). The truck was previously running well, but after the bad gas incident, it stalled completely. I've already added fuel stabilizer and octane booster, and attempted to refill with about 7–8 gallons of fresh gasoline. However, now the engine won't crank at all—appears as though it's refusing to turn over. This is my only mode of transportation, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. The vehicle has triggered two diagnostic trouble codes: P0700 and P0562. I'm seeking help understanding what these codes mean and how to resolve them, especially given the recent fuel incident.

P0562 indicates a low battery voltage issue. P0700 is a generic transmission code that often appears when other underlying issues—such as battery-related problems—are present and not yet resolved. Key points: - You may be missing the key 'scanner + key dance' trick, which can sometimes help with ignition system communication in older vehicles. - Charge your battery immediately. Check the charging system (alternator and voltage regulator) to ensure it's functioning properly. - Did you run the truck completely out of fuel? If so, this could contribute to starting issues. Check for spark and fuel pressure—use a fuel pressure gauge if possible. If the engine still doesn't crank after charging, please let us know. This may indicate deeper electrical or mechanical problems requiring further diagnosis.
