2006 Kia Sedona 3.8L V6 Persistent P0016 and P0018 Error Codes with Oil Light Activation at Idle

Model: 2006 Kia Sedona Fault Code: P0016 Posted: 2018-10-30 06:44

I recently replaced the timing chain and oil pump on my 2006 Kia Sedona 3.8L V6 engine, but the vehicle continues to display diagnostic trouble codes P0016 and P0018. Additionally, the oil pressure warning light activates when idling. I'm seeking advice on potential causes and next steps to resolve these issues.

Check if oil pressure is within normal range. Low oil pressure can trigger both P0016 and P0018 codes, especially under idle conditions.

I recently installed a new oil pump on my 2006 Kia Sedona V6 and still observed the same error codes. This suggests the issue may not be solely related to the oil pump replacement.

If the oil pressure warning light is active at idle, it's important to verify actual oil pressure using a mechanical gauge. A low-pressure reading could point to internal engine issues or faulty components. Additionally, please share the freeze frame data associated with the P0016 and P0018 codes for more accurate diagnosis.

P0082 may be related to issues such as a wire harness short to ground, solenoid grounded incorrectly, or ECM malfunction. For detailed wiring diagrams and troubleshooting steps, refer to the TSB database at http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb.
