2006 GMC Yukon P0530 Fault Code: Causes and Diagnosis Guide

Model: 2006 GMC Yukon Fault Code: P0530 Posted: 2017-10-03 13:40

Hello, I'm experiencing a P0530 diagnostic code on my 2006 GMC Yukon. The vehicle is showing this error code, which indicates an issue with the AC system pressure sensor or refrigerant level. I've checked the basic functions but am unsure of the root cause. Could this be related to low refrigerant charge due to a leak? Any guidance on how to properly diagnose and resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is likely restricting AC operation due to detected refrigerant pressure abnormalities. To confirm the issue, check both high and low-side AC pressure gauges. If the system shows inconsistent readings or low pressure, it may indicate a refrigerant leak. Have you recently used the air conditioning? Any history of leaks or repairs? A proper pressure test will help determine whether the problem is due to low charge or a more serious system failure.
