2006 Dodge Dakota 3.7L Engine DTC P0004: Location of Fuel Volume Regulator and Diagnosis Steps

Model: 2006 Dodge Dakota Fault Code: P0004 Posted: 2017-05-23 20:55

I've been consistently receiving the DTC P0004 code on my 2006 Dodge Dakota with a 3.7L engine. I need to locate the fuel volume regulator to troubleshoot the circuit. Is it situated inside the fuel tank or under the hood? Any guidance on how to properly diagnose this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend rescaning the vehicle's OBD2 system, as DTC P0004 is not commonly reported for the 2006 Dodge Dakota 3.7L engine combination. It may be a misdiagnosis or a transient code.

I rechecked the codes after driving the vehicle, and the check engine light came back on. The P0004 code disappeared temporarily, but now I'm seeing a live P0430 code with a pending status. I should inspect the oxygen sensor before replacing the catalytic converter. Thanks for the helpful input.
