Intermittent camposition sensor malfunction on my 2006 dodge dakota 4.7 V8

So I've been having an issue with my 2006 dodge dakota. Its a 4.7 L V8 SLT model. Ok so i had my engine light come on and then i took it over to autozone to get scanned and it was a cam position sensor intermittent malfuntion. So since then i have replaces cps and inspected and cleaned the harness and all connections with electrical parts cleaner. And inspectes the wires and they look fine. And im still having the issue. The problem as i said is intermittent. In saying that the check engine light comes on at least twice a day and when it does it misfires for ashort smount of time then seams to fix itself throuout the day. And goes off and its fine. Someone PLEASE HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TRY????

post ALL codes. Not clear on cps. What did you replace the CKP crank sensor or CMP cam sensor ? front right cylinder head is CMP....

Not sure which you are talking about. Tge one i replaced is located by front passenger tire going into motor. I believe it is the crank position sensor

what code or codes are you dealing with? on the back of the engine, in block by flywheel is the Crank position sensor - CKP. on the front of engine , in cylinder head is the Cam position sensor - CMP.

PO344 camshaft position sensor circuit intermittent. And thanks for the help!

I went searching for a easy troubleshoot for this code -as the troubletree requires a scanner (not a code reader) and a graphing labscope to look at CMP and CKP wave forms... not likely DIYer tools. There is also a TSB* for this code - a reflash of PCM. Look on the radiator support for a "Authorized Modification Label” this will tell if reflash was done...
