2006 Chrysler Town & Country Misfire P2302 - Check Engine Light On After Spark Plug and Coil Pack Replacement
Hello, I'm looking for honest advice about my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. It was running fine until one day when I started the engine and noticed the check engine light came on, along with a noticeable misfire. I initially scanned the vehicle at AutoZone and received codes P0300 and P230
The issue could be an electrical problem between the coil and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), or possibly a faulty PCM itself. According to P2302, this code specifically relates to cylinder #1's coil pack circuit. Check the wiring harness from the coil pack to the PCM for continuity and proper voltage. Use a test light at the PCM side — it should blink when the engine is running. If no blinking occurs, verify that there is 12 volts present at the PCM with the key on and engine off. If voltage is present but no signal, the issue may lie in the coil pack circuit or the PCM's driver circuit. If the wiring checks out, then a faulty PCM driver is likely the root cause. Refer to BBBind.com for detailed coil pack wiring diagrams for reference.
