The P0404 fault code on my 2006 Chrysler T&C Touring has been recurring, initially pointing to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system issue. Although I previously ignored the warning and had the EGR system replaced during a summer service, the vehicle continues to run smoothly with no performance loss or mileage issues. This 3.8-liter engine has exceeded 111,000 miles and remains reliable—bought new and driven consistently without major maintenance such as transmission fluid changes, spark plug replacements, or wire upgrades. I follow Chrysler's recommended oil change schedule and have only addressed minor issues over time. The vehicle shows no signs of drivability problems despite the persistent P0404 code.
