2006 Chevy Classic P0171 Code: Car Won't Start After Stopping While Driving
My girlfriend was driving my 2006 Chevrolet Classic, and the car suddenly died while in motion. Shortly after, the check engine light came on briefly before turning off. When I connected a OBD2 scanner, it displayed the P0171 code (Fuel System Too Lean). However, the vehicle now will not start at all. After researching the P0171 fault code, I did not find any information indicating that this code would completely disable engine startup. Is there a known cause or troubleshooting step for this issue? Any experience with similar problems on a 2006 Chevy Classic? Thanks, Bob.
It's possible the fuel pump triggered a lean condition (P0171) before failing completely. To confirm this, I recommend checking the fuel pressure — low fuel pressure could be causing the lean mixture and preventing startup.
