2006 Cadillac SRX P0008 Code Reappears After Repair - Warranty Coverage and Resolution Options

Model: 2006 Cadillac SRX Fault Code: P0008 Posted: 2017-06-20 11:58

I own a 2006 Cadillac SRX that I purchased in July 2015 with approximately 95,000 miles on the odometer. In October 2015, the P0008 diagnostic trouble code began appearing. I took the vehicle to Hendrick Cadillac of Cary, NC, where they repaired it for $2,951—$2,000 of which was covered by my extended full-coverage warranty. However, the P0008 code has returned again. When I returned to Hendrick Cadillac (where the initial repair was completed in 2015), they stated that their workmanship guarantee is only valid for 12 months. My warranty provider may not cover a repeat repair for the same issue. Given this, what steps can I take to resolve the P0008 code without having to sell the vehicle? The P0008 code on a 2006 Cadillac SRX typically relates to issues with the crankshaft position sensor or related components, and repeated occurrences suggest a potential design flaw or recurring mechanical failure.

The P0008 code on a 2006 Cadillac SRX can stem from various underlying issues such as crankshaft position sensor faults, wiring problems, or sensor signal degradation. Since your vehicle has an extended full-coverage warranty, that coverage should help cover the repair costs for the same issue if it recurs within the policy terms. It's important to verify with your warranty provider whether repeat repairs under the same diagnostic code are covered and what specific conditions apply.
