2005 Ford Mondeo MK3 2.0 TDCI 130BH - P0251 Fault Code Persisting After Fuel System Repairs
My 2005 Ford Mondeo MK3 2.0 TDCI 130BH is showing a P0251 fault code. I have already replaced the fuel filter, the Delphi fuel pump, and the fuel pressure regulator (FRP), but the issue persists under load. When accelerating to 2500+ RPM, the glow plug light flashes and there's a significant loss of power. The engine has now completely cut out during operation. I'm seeking advice on how to properly diagnose and resolve this issue, especially as it appears to be related to fuel delivery or injector performance.
The fault was resolved after discovering that a failed fuel pump had caused damage to Injector 3. I replaced Injector 3 and the P0251 code has since cleared. As part of any diagnostic process, I recommend performing an injector leak-off test to ensure proper function and identify potential internal faults.
