2005 Mercedes C230 P2190 and P2188 Fault Code: Too Rich in Both Banks

Model: 2005 Mercedes C230 Fault Code: P2188 Posted: 2017-12-07 20:24

Hi! Has anyone found a solution to the P2190 and P2188 fault codes on a 2005 Mercedes C230? I'm experiencing both codes indicating too rich fuel mixture in both engine banks. The issue seems related to fuel delivery or air intake, but I'm not sure of the exact cause. Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! This post has been separated into its own topic due to the specific year and fault codes mentioned. The original poster hasn't been active since last year, so this thread is now focused on the 2005 Mercedes C230 with P2190 and P2188 codes.

Thanks for sharing! I resolved the issue myself — the fuel filter housing was incorrectly connected, causing an air leak. After properly reassembling and resetting the engine control unit, both fault codes cleared and the vehicle runs normally again.
