Multiple Engine Fault Codes and Misfire on 2005 Ford F250 5.4L Engine
I own a 2005 Ford F250 with a 5.4L V8 engine. Recently, the vehicle began exhibiting intermittent misfiring and a strong raw fuel smell coming from the exhaust pipe. The OBD2 scanner is showing ten fault codes simultaneously: P0175, P0301, P0308, P0307, P0201, P0202, P0203, P0351, P2195, and P2198. This is highly unusual since no warning lights were illuminated prior to the failure. Given that all these codes are related to Bank 1 (passenger side), I suspect a systemic issue rather than isolated component failure. The presence of multiple misfire and fuel trim codes suggests potential problems with ignition, fuel delivery, or sensor readings.
A reasonable starting point is to investigate the P020x codes — these typically indicate issues with fuel injectors or related wiring. Since all these codes pertain to Bank 1 (passenger side), a faulty wiring harness, especially in areas where it may be pinched, rubbed, or damaged, should be prioritized. Have there been any recent modifications, repairs, or maintenance work performed on the vehicle recently?
