2005 Eclipse P0135 P0113 P0102 Fault: Idle Cuts Out, Rough Running, Repair Cost Concerns

Model: 2005 Eclipse Fault Code: P0102 Posted: 2016-09-16 18:16

My 2005 Eclipse is showing trouble codes P0135, P0113, and P0102. The car frequently cuts off while idling, though it cranks back up without issue. When running, it jerks, shudders, and runs very rough—similar to being out of gas, even though the fuel tank is full. The symptoms worsen when the air conditioning is on. Today it didn’t cut off at all, but yesterday it did throughout the day. This has been happening for about two weeks. I’ve been told that repairs such as replacing the timing belt, water pump, various sensors, and checking for vacuum leaks may be needed. Additionally, throttle body cleaning is recommended. However, repair estimates range from $50 to $850, which raises serious cost concerns. As a non-technical user, I’m unsure whether these fixes address the root cause or just symptoms. I’d appreciate any accurate diagnosis and advice on what repairs are truly necessary to fix this issue.

For detailed explanations of P0135, P0113, and P0102 codes in 2005 Eclipse models, refer to the official forum troubleshooting section. Replacement of the timing belt and water pump is typically a preventive maintenance task performed at specific mileage intervals and not always directly linked to these error codes.
