2005 Dodge Caravan U0155 and U110C: Lost Communication with Instrument Cluster and Fuel Gauge Issue

Model: 2005 Dodge Caravan Fault Code: U0155 Posted: 2015-05-12 19:39

I recently had my 2005 Dodge Caravan scanned at Advance Auto Parts, and two OBD-II diagnostic codes were detected: U0155 and U110C. The U0155 code indicates lost communication with the instrument cluster, which aligns with past experiences where dashboard lights would go out temporarily and return after restarting the engine. Currently, all dashboard indicators are functioning normally. Regarding the second code, I initially recorded it as U111C, but upon further review and clarification from other users, it appears this was a typo. The correct code is U110C, which is associated with a fuel gauge malfunction. This makes sense given that the fuel gauge is part of the instrument cluster system. I am seeking confirmation on what exactly U110C means in the context of a 2005 Dodge Caravan and whether this issue could be related to wiring, sensor faults, or network communication problems within the vehicle's electronic systems. Any insights or known fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Confirmed: U110C is the correct code — my initial response had a typo. The proper SWAG (suggested) code for this issue is U110C, not P110C.

Thanks for clarifying! Both codes are indeed U-codes, which typically indicate network or communication issues. The U0155 code matches my experience — dashboard lights have gone out several times and returned after engine restarts. Currently, all gauges are working properly. I've now verified that the second code is actually U110C, not U111C. I'll update if any further diagnostics come up.

Correction: My earlier comment contained a typo — the correct code is U110C, not P110C. This is consistent with known issues in 2005 Dodge Caravan models related to instrument cluster communication.

Thanks for confirming! What does U110C specifically indicate on a 2005 Dodge Caravan? Is it related to the fuel gauge or another gauge?

U110C refers to a fault in the fuel gauge system, which is part of the instrument cluster. This code often points to communication issues between the vehicle's ECU and the fuel gauge module. It may be linked to wiring problems or signal degradation within the network. I'll continue monitoring for additional symptoms and post updates if more data becomes available.
