code 16 is cam and crank misalined I have replaced both sensors, on the scanner it shows -12 deg, the timing says its around 12 deg any Ideas how to check this problem? When the check eng light comes on seems to run ok but when you give it heavy throttle it starts bucking bad and no cruise control when it sets the code. Thank you
Need to check the flywheel center maybe cracked. May NOT make any noise.
The fact that it has no cruise when this happens is a clue! Most chrsylers will disallow cruise when the timing is out! I was told it's programmed in on the assy line as a way to check them and to be done by the last guys driving them , If it won't engage they send it back to have the timing, sync etc checked. Like they said probably a shiftted flywheel hub, very common, most of the times make no noise!
Have replaced several flexplates that cracked at the crankshaft causing flexplate to shift on the crank shaft. One was bad enough it made a pop noise when you gassed the engine.
