2005 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.8L P0403 and P0406 Error Codes - No EGR Valve Solution
I'm experiencing error codes P0403 and P0406 on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Limited with a 3.8L engine. This is concerning because my model does not have an EGR valve, which makes these codes unusual. I've taken the vehicle to two different mechanics, but neither could identify the cause. Since my van lacks an EGR valve, I'm wondering if there's a known solution that doesn't require visiting a dealer. Can anyone provide insight into what might be causing these codes or suggest troubleshooting steps before considering a dealer visit? Thank you for your help.
It seems you are either not the original owner or the vehicle has had a computer replacement. My first question is: how long has the Check Engine Light (CEL) been on? There may be a reprogramming requirement, such as a self-delete of EGR settings as outlined in TSB 18-026-0或 the system was incorrectly modified and reprogrammed. A dealer visit would likely be needed to perform the correct reprogramming.
