2005 Chevy Tahoe P0300 P0171 P0131

Model: 2005 Chevy Tahoe Fault Code: P0131 Posted: 2011-03-06 14:10

I have a 2005 chevy tahoe that started showing these three codes. The check engine light comes on after the tahoe has warmed up and I have shut the engine off, and started it back up. After I start it back up it will miss at idle. I changed the spark plugs out about 7000 miles ago and I just changed out the spark plug wires since I thought the P0300 could have been the wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks

i would concentrate on the 171 code first, that's a bank one lean code, which could be a leaking intake, vacum hose, ect. i have seen several of these with the same codes and many times it was cloogged injectors, which would cause your lean codes and missfire codes,as for the o2 code take care of the root cause of the lean code and clear it. it will probably not come back.

Like any GM truck also be cautious of low fuel pressure and don't assume because it only codes for one bank that the engine is recieving enough fuel, the fuel trims could be also showing lean on bank 2 but if they aren't high enough to code they won't! Lots of V style engine act the same way! Jethro's suggestions are excellent but be sure to test that the 02 isn't stuck and can switch if forced rich because a stuck bias 02 could cause all 3 of your codes!
