2005 2500 HD 6.0 Codes P0332 P0158 P0060

Model: 2005 2500 HD 6.0 Fault Code: P0060 Posted: 2014-05-07 09:43

2005 2500HD 6.0 4x4. Codes first started with O2 sensor Right Bank Sensor Two and before I could get it fixed have a code for Right Side Knock sensor. Could the O2 sensors give a false reading/Following codes are present: P-0332 / P-0158 / P-0060. Any help on where to start. Thanks in advance

start with the p0060 and P0158 both are B2S2- inspect the sensor wiring I believe it is close to a frame component.. look at the wiring- pinched chaffed etc. check for voltage on heater circuit (pnk wire) ck blk for a good ground, be sure pnk is not shorted to othere 2 wires.. For the KS sensor- P0332- is there any ticking knocking slapping sound? is there a preignition sound- a rattle upon acceleration? I would work the o2 sensor reading first... PS - with a scanner - B2S2 voltage ? fuel trims . If you replace o2 use an OEM.. clear the KAM to erase o2 heater record

First let me say thanks to the quick reply. No sounds even on hard acceleration or going up a steep hill. I checked the wiring and everything looked good. Sorry, not sure what you are saying. (PS.......Fuel trims). So both the P-60 and P-158 are both related to #2 sensor. If I change the bad sensor will this clear up both the 60 and 158 codes or are they two different things? Also, What are referring to KAM Does this mean just clearing the code with my scanner. Thanks

p0060 and p0158 are same sensor- did you check the wiring? is there the voltage and a good ground? there is a fused circuit involved. Chamging a sensor blindly is not advised... PS - WAS A SUGGESTION IF YOU HAVE A SCANNER LOOK AT B2S2 VOLTAGES- AND FUEL TRIMS KAM keep alive memory- PCM stores o2 heater parameters to compare trip to trip.. a new sensor could confuse it into thinking the different readding is a problem... just remove neg terminal of battery for a 10 count if you change sensor. have you experianced driven in high water - flooding?

Once again thanks. Checked the wiring and looked fine No open wires. What kind of voltage am I looking for does truck need to be running. Ya I was driving thru some heavy slush and deeper water while ice fishing about 1 month ago. My scanner is not that good where I can read graphs to measure fuel trim. What is the disadvangtage of not just chabging the sensor Thanks

some suggestions- change the sensor use a GM component.. a calculated cost risk.. If you want to DIY today you need a scanner- look at actron CP9580 - or equivalent- Discover more Engine Car dealership Fuel pump you need to know WHAT the computer in vehivle is seeing or complaining about, a scanner is a mudt todaay. Then after that slear codes and we will look at KS issue; PS you do know GOD favors fishermen

Thanks kev Will buy the 9580 and let you know I am just going to replace the sensor for right now clear codes unplug battery hook up new scanner and will let post, Have to wait until this weekend, temp is in the low 30's Thanks

load, if you're thinking of buying from Amazon.com, use this link and we'll get a small commission: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008ZDYLC2/ p.s. That's the scanner I own and use.

I received my 9580 today Not sure if I can figure out all the options. Have not replaced O2 sensor. What should do first with the scanner or any hints. Also do I have the scanner hooked during a drive cycle.quote="kev2"]some suggestions- change the sensor use a GM component.. a calculated cost risk.. read the manual, check the actron web site for tutorials, maybe google a you tube tutorial.. plug it in - check codes - look at freeze frame- go thru the options - try to see FT fuel trims long and short, the o2 sensor readings.. you will get the hang of it - do not need it connected to do a drive cycle...

Thanks. Still confused about Drive Cycle. Downloaded recommended GM drive cycle but still not sure how it works. Do you have to scan immediately after last step or will the data remain after driving. They way I read it, you have to do all the steps to get everything to operate. Just not sure about stored data on trucks computer.

I cannot understand your question...I will try to add The drive cycle encompasses the parameters needed (time, temp, rpm etc) that the vehicle PCM needs to complete the "self tests' of specific emission system. These test results called IM monitors are stored in the PCM as - complete or incomplete..ready or not ready. terms are semantics This is stored in so called OBD Mode 1 (mode$01*) a memory - It will remain stored unless - you clear a code ERASING the code removes alot of stored info... * notice the hex decimal notation $01 - you will see this do not panic just ask - another part of learning curve.... rocket science almost

Anonymous 2014-05-16 08:26

Try again. Once I complete the drive cycle, and I continue to drive around are the original drive cycle stored in the KAM so I can run the scan after getting back home. When are all the self tests cleared from the PCM

Anonymous 2014-05-16 09:18

IM monitor status is stored - they do not stack - only one status is stored. When erased its gone and on to next test event- IM monitor is a secondary consideration- really its only use is emissions testing. you want to concentrate on CODES active and pending... When you see a code - look at freeze frame data, a capture of the data when the code occurred.

Got is this time. On to the cycle and plug in the scanner. Thanks for all the help. Will post on the results

Finally got around to fixing my O2 sensor. Now on to the next problem I had. After clearing the codes and driving for an hour one old code came back and a new showed up. Old code was P0332 and new P0101. No noise on start up or acceleration. Truck seems to run fine. Do have actron cp9580a. When reading codes, what does history mean on the screen. Once again thanks
