2004 Ford Ranger 2.3L 4-Cylinder 2WD with P0741 Code and 5R55E Transmission Issue
I have replaced the TCC solenoid on my 2004 Ford Ranger with a 2.3L 4-cylinder, 2WD engine and still receive the P0741 diagnostic code. The transmission shifts normally until the overdrive (O/D) begins to flash. When I turn off the O/D function manually, the RPM increases by approximately 300 rpm. After turning off the key, the vehicle shifts properly again until the O/D flashes, at which point it enters limp mode and shifts harshly between gears 1 and 2. What should the engine RPM be when lockup occurs? Currently, the RPM is around 2250 at 60 mph — does this seem within normal range for proper torque converter lockup?
