I own a 2004 Ram 2500 5.7L with the Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminated due to fault codes P0157 and P0137. The vehicle has no noticeable performance issues and is currently at 97,000 miles. Both oxygen sensors have been replaced once under warranty. The CEL typically turns off during dry weather but reactivates after rain or snowfall. This behavior suggests a moisture-related issue affecting sensor readings. I'm seeking advice on what diagnostic steps to take—especially regarding potential wiring or environmental exposure problems.

Inspect the rear oxygen sensor connectors for corrosion, particularly if they are exposed to road splash or moisture. Corrosion can interfere with signal transmission and trigger P0157 and P0137 codes.

Is the vehicle equipped with original OEM parts only? Are there any additional diagnostic trouble codes present? The symptoms—especially recurring after weather changes—point to a wiring issue, specifically O2 SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND or O2 SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT (B1S2 and B2S2). These faults may be exacerbated by moisture ingress in the sensor harness.
