2004 Nissan Xterra P0037 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Current Fault

Model: 2004 Nissan Xterra Fault Code: P0037 Posted: 2015-11-16 20:46

My 2004 Nissan Xterra exhibits misfiring and poor engine performance when the engine is hot. The check engine light is on, and the fault code displayed is P0037. This indicates an issue with the oxygen sensor heater circuit, specifically a low current condition in the heater circuit.

The detected fault code is P0037, which corresponds to the O2 sensor heater circuit having a low amperage. Begin by checking the fuse—ensure there is 12 volts on both sides of the fuse. The suspect fuse may be #14, rated at 15 amps (though this is a possibility, not a certainty). A diagnostic scanner is required to confirm what the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is actually detecting. If replacement is needed, use an original Nissan part for compatibility and reliability.

the code is O2 sensor heater circuit...heater circuit LOW amp ... start with fuse check, do not just look at a fuse confirm 12v both sides....May be #14 a 15 amp that's a MAYBE... next will require a scanner to see what the PCM is seeing.... If the sensor needs replace use a NISSAN part.
