2004 Mitsubishi Carisma P0135 Fault: Which Sensor Is Affected - Manifold or After Cat?

Model: 2004 Mitsubishi Carisma Fault Code: P0135 Posted: 2016-08-03 13:18

Hi, I own a 2004 Mitsubishi Carisma 1.6 and my dashboard displays fault code P0135 — Heater Circuit Malfunction, Bank 1, Sensor 1. I'm trying to determine which sensor this refers to: the one located in the exhaust manifold or the one positioned after the catalytic converter? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mart.

The P0135 code typically refers to the pre-cat sensor located in the exhaust manifold. Key point: Always check fuses and wiring first before replacing the sensor.

Hi Kev2, thanks for the reply. I've already checked all fuses — they're fine. The fault clears temporarily when I reset the system, and the warning light stays off for a short time, which suggests one of the oxygen sensors is at fault.
