2004 Lincoln Aviator P0107 Code: Mass Air Flow Sensor Issue Despite No MAP Sensor?

Model: 2004 Lincoln Aviator Fault Code: P0107 Posted: 2014-11-02 18:52

Hello, I'm experiencing trouble codes P0402 (EGR flow excessive), P0401 (EGR flow insufficient), and P01406 (Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor - DPFE) on my 2004 Lincoln Aviator. Previously, on a Mercury Mountaineer, I identified the issue as a faulty DPFE sensor. In this model, the DPFE is integrated into the EGR valve, so I replaced the entire EGR valve and DPFE unit. After the replacement, the P0402 and P0401 codes cleared, but a new code has appeared: P0107 (Manifold Absolute Pressure - MAP Sensor) is now showing up. I've confirmed that my 2004 Lincoln Aviator does not have a traditional MAP sensor — instead, it uses a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. So why is the vehicle reporting a MAP sensor fault? I've thoroughly inspected all connections and found no loose wires or disconnections. After clearing the code, it returns consistently. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this P0107 error in a vehicle that doesn't have a MAP sensor. Could this be a misdiagnosis due to sensor confusion? Or is there another underlying issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul
