2004 Ford F150 FX4 5.4L Engine P0606 P2106 P0345 Fault Codes After Timing Chain Replacement

Model: 2004 Ford F150 FX4 Fault Code: P0345 Posted: 2014-10-29 19:38

I own a 2004 Ford F150 FX4 with the 5.4L V8 engine, currently at 183,000 miles. I recently replaced the timing chains and tensioners during a maintenance service. After reassembly, the vehicle is now displaying three diagnostic trouble codes: P0606 (PCM processor fault), P2106 (throttle actuator control limited power), and P0345 (camshaft position sensor circuit failure). I'm seeking clarification on what these codes mean and whether they are directly related to the timing chain work or could indicate a separate issue. The engine is stock with no modifications, and none of these codes were present prior to the repair.

P0606 typically indicates a failed Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Could you confirm if this code existed before the timing chain replacement? The engine is stock, which is important. A damaged or pinched wire in the throttle actuator control (TAC) or camshaft position sensor (CMP) circuits might be causing both the TAC and PCM issues—this could explain why the codes appeared after repair. I'm asking to understand if these faults were present before the work was done.

The vehicle is stock with no modifications. These codes did not appear prior to the timing chain and tensioner replacement.
