2004 Ford F150 FX4 5.4L Engine Codes C1296, C2197, B1484, and P0345 After Transmission Rebuild

Model: 2004 f150 fx4 Fault Code: B1484 Posted: 2015-10-04 14:07

Hello everyone — this is my first post on the forum! I recently completed a full transmission rebuild on my 2004 Ford F15-0 FX4 with a 5.4L engine. The truck had been well-maintained, running smoothly for over 106,000 miles prior to this work. After reassembling the transmission, I noticed the check engine light came on — something I’ve never experienced before. Using an OBD2 code reader, I retrieved several fault codes: - C1296: Left and Right Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction - C2197: Right Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction - B1484: Brake Pedal Circuit Open - P0345: Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit — Bank 2 I’m looking for advice on troubleshooting these codes, especially since they appeared after the transmission rebuild. I’ve also learned that purchasing a 'premium' rebuild kit from a local shop may not be necessary or effective. Any experience with these specific codes in a 2004 F150 FX4? Any recommendations on diagnostics or repairs? Thanks in advance for your help!

I recommend starting with the P0345 code first. Check the camshaft position sensor circuit in Bank 2 — ensure it's properly connected, plugged in, and has adequate voltage. You can refer to OBD-Codes.com for detailed troubleshooting steps on P0345: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0345
