2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L Won't Start with P0344 and P0340 Error Codes - PCM Replacement Help

Model: 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Fault Code: P0340 Posted: 2016-01-03 11:54

My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7L engine suddenly lost power while driving on the freeway and triggered error codes P0344 and P0340. I replaced both the camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor using aftermarket parts from a parts store, followed by replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Despite these efforts, the vehicle still won't start. It ran roughly during my last attempt to start it. Should I instead use OEM sensors from an authorized dealer? Is there something else I might be missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Always verify wiring connections and integrity when troubleshooting P0344 and P0340 codes. Poor wiring or loose connectors can mimic sensor failures, so inspect the harnesses and grounding points thoroughly before replacing components.
