P0335 Fault in 2004 Dodge Dakota After Engine Replacement - Rev Limit at 2000 RPM
I recently replaced the engine in my 2004 Dodge Dakota, and now the vehicle exhibits a P0335 crankshaft position sensor fault. The replacement engine was sourced from another 2004 Dakota. After installation, the truck idles normally but will not rev past 2000 RPM—appearing to hit a rev limiter at that point. When I clear the P0335 code while parked or driving, it reappears immediately upon restarting. The issue seems specific to the new engine setup and may be related to sensor calibration or wiring compatibility.
Could you confirm the exact engine type? Is the replacement engine from a 2004 Dodge Dakota model? Are there any other diagnostic trouble codes present?
