2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3L P0306, Cylinder 6 misfire

Model: 2004 Chevy Silverado Fault Code: P0306 Posted: 2014-12-15 14:09

2004 Silverado, 1500, 4x4, 5.3L, 125,000 miles. I keep getting at p0306, cylinder 6 misfire code. I've replaced the plugs, wires, mass air flow sensor, coil pack and intake manifold gasket. Now what? I'm really getting frustrated. It doesn't run bad. Idles fine and runs out fine.

those are the only codes no other issues, vehicle is STOCK. Working without a scanner to look at data here's some simple DIYer ideas- Ok you changed plugs - All 8 and you used AC Delco? How did plugs look esp #6 - wet dry black tan? we need to check the injectors, a simple start would be to add a can of injector cleaner- techron or seafoam - a fuel pressure test and a leek down check- you will need a gauge. A compression test on #6 #4 #8 to compare..

The motor is stock. The truck has a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires. The plugs were dry and tan. I did add a bottle of injector cleaner 2 tanks ago.

the only thing you can do is switch injector 6 with another injector and see if misfire code moves.
