2004 Chevy Blazer P0101 Code: Poor Acceleration, Stalls at Low RPMs - Diagnosis & Fixes
I have a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer displaying trouble code P0101. The vehicle fails to accelerate beyond 2500 RPM and often stalls while driving. Acceleration is severely limited, making the truck essentially undrivable under normal conditions. I've already cleaned and electrically tested the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, and based on my observations, it does not appear to be the root cause—though it's the only code present. Previously, I experienced a P0300 random misfire code, which has not returned even after multiple stall runs. Fuel pressure remains within acceptable range for this model, but it fluctuates significantly (up to 4 psi variation), indicating instability. Given these symptoms and test results, what other diagnostic steps should I take? The vehicle is currently unsafe to drive and requires a reliable fix as soon as possible.
Check for exhaust system restrictions. Additionally, if you disconnect the MAF sensor during a road test, does the engine rev higher or show improved performance? This can help determine whether the MAF is contributing to the issue.
