2004 Cadillac SRX Engine Power Reduction: P0343, P2138, P0368, and P0606 Diagnostic Issues After Engine Swap
I own a 2004 Cadillac SRX with a 3.6L engine and recently performed an engine swap using a 2006 Cadillac STS engine. Since the swap, the check engine light has remained on continuously. Even after clearing the fault codes via OBD2, they reappear immediately. The recurring trouble codes are P0343 (Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit), P2138 (Fuel Trim 2 - Bank 2 Too Rich), P0368 (Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit), and occasionally P0606 (ECM Memory Error). I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including sensor recalibration and wiring checks. Given that the engine is from a different model year, I'm wondering if using an incompatible ECM or software version is causing these persistent issues. Any insights or recommendations on whether the ECM compatibility matters in this swap would be greatly appreciated.
