2003 Dodge Stratus P0128 and P0171 OBD2 Fault Codes - Solutions & Diagnostics

Model: 2003 STRATUS Fault Code: P0128 Posted: 2006-06-14 09:30

I own a 2003 Dodge Stratus with the 2.4L engine, currently at 42,000 miles. The check engine light is illuminated and displaying fault codes P0128 and P0171. I've already replaced both the thermostat and the coolant temperature sensor. After clearing the codes, the P0128 code returns immediately. Additionally, the vehicle now shows a persistent P0171 code. Despite these repairs, the issue remains unresolved. Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

What is your engine coolant temperature reading? How does the oxygen sensor (O2) signal appear under different driving conditions?

Hi, I'm experiencing the same P0128 and P0171 codes on a 2003 Dodge Stratus with a 2.4L engine. However, I've been unable to resolve it. Can anyone provide more details or suggest further diagnostics?

Are both P0128 and P0171 codes present? Have you tried using OEM or dealer-grade parts instead of aftermarket components?
