P0325 Fault in 2003 Honda Civic LX 4-Cylinder with 5-Speed Manual: Engine Check Light On, Cluster Gauge Failure and No Start
I was driving my 2003 Honda Civic LX 4-cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission when I noticed the dashboard gauges suddenly jumped in reading. The display briefly returned to normal but then completely stopped functioning. At the same time, all interior lights were extremely dim. The engine check light illuminated. After shutting off the vehicle, I used an OBD2 scanner and retrieved fault code P0325 — Knock Sensor 1 Circuit (Bank 1). When attempting to restart the car, it failed to start entirely. Instead, I only hear repeated clicking noises when turning the ignition key. The issue appears to be related to both engine sensor failure and electrical system performance. What could be causing this? Is the knock sensor faulty or is there a deeper electrical problem?
Check the vehicle's battery and alternator, especially for alternator diode failures — these can cause intermittent power loss and affect engine control signals, potentially leading to P0325 and starting issues.
