P0132 OBD2 Code on 2003 Ford Explorer XLT 4.6L V8 - Reappears After Reset

Model: 2003 Ford Explorer XLT 4.6 V8 Fault Code: P0132 Posted: 2017-06-07 16:00

Hi, I'm experiencing a recurring P0132 fault code on my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT with a 4.6L V8 engine. The code appears after resetting the system and returns within about 15 minutes. Approximately a month ago, I replaced the oxygen sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 1) with a Bosch unit, but the P0132 code reappears almost immediately. I've heard concerns that the Bosch sensor may not be rated for high fuel temperatures in this engine setup—could this be contributing to the issue? The vehicle occasionally feels sluggish, though it doesn't always exhibit this behavior. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with O2 sensors or P0132 codes on this model?

Remove the Bosch oxygen sensor and replace it with one from an authorized Ford dealer. Genuine Ford parts are typically better matched to the vehicle's operating conditions. For more details, refer to: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0132
