I'm having difficulty finding reliable information about fault code P1170 specifically for my 2003 BMW 540i. The 'Service Engine Soon' light is currently illuminated, and I've already replaced both oxygen sensors as recommended by Bavarian Auto. Despite this, the P1170 error code persists. What could be causing this issue? Are there any known troubleshooting steps or common causes for this code on this model year?

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is a likely suspect. Check its readings and connections.

Vacuum leak(s) maybe? Have you checked the circuit(s) to the O2? Exhaust leak? Fuel Pressure?
