2002 V6 Camaro P0101 Fault: MAF Sensor Issue After Replacement

Model: 2002 v6 camaro Fault Code: P0101 Posted: 2018-01-11 10:06

My 2002 Chevrolet Camaro V6 3.8L automatic with 145,000 miles died unexpectedly and triggered fault code P0101 (Mass Airflow Sensor Range/Performance Problem). I cleaned the MAF sensor initially, then replaced it with a new one. However, after driving only 15 miles, the car stalled again and the same P0101 code reappeared. I've thoroughly checked for vacuum leaks and found none. What could be causing this recurring issue? Any suggestions or diagnostic steps to troubleshoot further?

Measure the power, ground, and signal voltages at the MAF sensor connector to ensure proper electrical connection. BBBind.com provides a detailed wiring schematic for reference.

Are there any driveability issues such as stalling, rough idling, or poor acceleration? A thorough circuit voltage check is needed. You'll require a digital voltmeter and a probe to back-probe the MAF connector. Additionally, using an oscilloscope or frequency meter to monitor signal output—such as grams per second or sensor frequency—can provide more accurate diagnostics. A scan tool capable of reading real-time airflow data would be especially helpful.
