2002 Silverado 1500 2WD 5.3L Repeated P0332 Code at 60 MPH - Diagnosis and Fixes
My 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2-wheel drive with a 5.3L engine has been showing up the OBD2 fault code P0332 twice, even after clearing it using a scanner. The code returns consistently when driving around 60 mph. I've read that voltage checks on the knock sensor may be necessary, but I'm unsure where to locate this sensor or how to properly test it. Recently, I drove through standing water at high speed without flooding—no visible damage. This truck has had minimal maintenance and I am the original owner. It continues to run smoothly otherwise. Any advice on diagnosing or resolving the P0332 code would be greatly appreciated.
Use an OBD2 scanner to monitor the knock sensor signal waveform for abnormal patterns. Knock sensors in this engine model (especially on early 5.3L V8s) are known to fail or produce intermittent faults, particularly after exposure to water or moisture.
