2002 Honda CR-V Knock Sensor Error Causing Idle Failure and Stalling
My 2002 Honda CR-V is showing a knock sensor error code. After running the engine for one minute at 3000 RPM and briefly at 40-4000 RPM to test if the code would clear, the issue worsened. The vehicle now stalls immediately when I release the accelerator pedal. It runs erratically and unevenly at low RPM while driving, and when I need to stop or hold the clutch for a few seconds, it chokes and dies. Could a faulty knock sensor be causing this behavior? The only error code detected is from the knock sensor, but I also discovered that the intake air bypass control thermal valve's in-nipple has been damaged and is plugged. What steps should I take to diagnose and fix this issue?
I recommend visiting your local Honda dealership, as they have the proper diagnostic scanner to read and interpret error codes. They can also provide the correct replacement parts for the damaged intake air bypass control thermal valve.
